„‘Who are You, Lord?’ Then the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
So he, trembling and astonished, said, ‘Lord, what do You want me to do?’
Then the Lord said to him, ‘Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.'”
The authority and awesome power of Jesus can be seen in these two verses.
Mighty Saul of Tarsus, equipped with the authority of the ruling Jewish council, had come to capture and drag away the followers of this so called Christ. Yet, seconds after meeting Him, he’s lying on the ground asking the Lord’s will for his life.
Jesus informs him, „You will be told what you MUST do.” There is not an option for Saul. He has met the risen and living Jesus of Nazareth, whom angels tremble before.
Oh the mighty Savior. Blessed be His Name!
Read and remember WHO HE IS and WHO YOU ARE today.
Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His Presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His Name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
